Godrej Refrigerator Defrost / Frost-Free Fan Motor ⚠️ Safety First: Installation should be performed by a qualified refrigerator technician. Unplug the refrigerator from the electrical supply before starting the installation. Step-by-Step Installation 1. Switch OFF & Unplug the Refrigerator Turn OFF the refrigerator. Remove the power plug from the electrical socket. Allow the refrigerator to stand safely before beginning the repair. 2. Access the Evaporator/Fan Area Remove the freezer compartment cover/panel according to the refrigerator model. Carefully expose the evaporator and fan-motor assembly. 3. Remove the Fan Assembly Remove the fan blade from the existing motor shaft. Keep the fan blade, clips and screws safely for reuse. If ice is present around the fan, do not force the blade. Allow the ice to melt completely. 4. Disconnect the Old Motor Locate the motor's electrical wire/terminal connection. Disconnect the connector carefully. Do not pull the wires directly. 5. Remove the Existing Motor Remove the motor mounting screws. Carefully remove the old defrost/frost-free motor from its bracket. 6. Compare the New Motor Before fitting, confirm that the new motor matches the old motor for: Model/part number 230V / 50Hz 2450 RPM Shaft size and length Mounting-hole position Connector/wire arrangement Rotation direction 7. Install the New Motor Position the new motor in the original mounting bracket. Align the mounting holes correctly. Tighten the screws firmly, but do not overtighten. 8. Refit the Fan Blade Install the original fan blade onto the new motor shaft. Secure it properly. Rotate the blade manually with the power OFF to ensure it moves freely and does not touch the surrounding housing. 9. Connect the Wiring Connect the motor wires/terminals exactly as they were connected to the original motor. Ensure the connection is secure. Never connect the motor to an incorrect voltage. 10. Reassemble the Refrigerator Reinstall the evaporator/fan cover and freezer panel. Ensure that no wire is trapped or touching the fan blade. 11. Restore Power & Test Reconnect the refrigerator to the electrical supply. Allow the refrigerator to operate normally. Check that the fan runs smoothly without unusual noise or vibration. Verify proper airflow and cooling. ⚠️ Important Do not test or connect the motor directly unless you are a qualified technician and have verified the correct electrical specification. If the refrigerator continues to show poor cooling, excessive frost, or the fan does not operate after replacement, the problem may be related to the fan wiring, PCB/control system, thermostat/sensor, defrost system, or ice blockage, rather than the motor itself. Professional Installation Recommended: Incorrect installation, wrong wiring, incorrect voltage, or fitting an incompatible motor can damage the motor or refrigerator control system and may void the warranty.
